The story of a simple, playful hashtag that has grown into an @ sign.

@rieslingstudy began as a way of articulating the nuance and diversity of Riesling (and, by association, German wine) and grew organically into a series of creative, site-specific events bringing food and German wine together beginning in early 2020, all curated by the eccentric mind of @soilpimp.

There will be no logical program or simple progression, yet the idea is simple enough: creativity, passion, education, with themes both diverse and highly-focused. Nationwide events will be announced through @sourcematerialwine and @rieslingstudy as they are conceived; expect collaborations that expand beyond the world of food and wine.

We are extremely excited to announce @rieslingstudy 005 at Rule of Thirds in Brooklyn.

Please join us outside on Sunday, May 16th from noon to 4pm, as we turn our attention to Chef JT's incredible Japanese cuisine.

Robert has known Chef JT and General Manager George Padilla for many years as a regular at their prior restaurant, the cult Japanese Breakfast spot, Okonomi.  George is an enthusiastic Riesling fan and Chef JT will design a Japanese izakaya-style meal that will pair wonderfully with Riesling. We could not be more excited to partner with them for this event.

This will be a BYOB event so bring whatever you want as long as it is Riesling.

As always source | material will be providing many old, new and large format bottles to spread our infectious love of German Riesling.

Rule of Thirds will also be hosting a Riesling and Sake Pop Up all weekend with a special wine list featuring selections from vom Boden.

This event is now sold out. Please email us to be added to the waiting list.
